The subsea tunnel, 5727 m long, that connects Kristiansund with Averøy (island) was opened for traffic 19.December 2009. The tunnel is an important part of E136 between the cities Kristiansund and Molde. This road, usually called the Atlantic road, is internationally acclaimed for its outstanding beauty. We would add it is also interesting from a techno-logical point of view. |
